You might be interested in the 2008 presidential elections. So am I. But I won't get into politics here. Instead John Stark will show you a fascinating history of the timepieces worn by our nation's leaders. One of the watches that John looks at in detail is the Omega worn by John F. Kennedy during his inauguration. The timepiece recently changed hands at an auction.

I don't go into the rather interesting background of this particular auction but you might want to read up on it in a recent Wall Street Journal article "Invisible Hand, How Top Watch Makers Intervene in Auctions: Luxury Time Pieces Get Pumped Up in Bidding; 'It's a Bit Dangerous'" (WSJ, October 8, 2007 page A1.).

Then you can fi nd out how it is that EBEL is named that way and learn more on this fascinating brand.

Dean Bump then takes you into the intricacies of feminine machinery: mechanical watches are not just for men anymore.
Thenen you can delve into a beautiful article on high end yachts, and can also fi nd out whether or not you want to dock your yacht in the recently opened Yacht Haven Grand on St. Thomas.

I'm very proud of our most recent photoshoot, which was not really a walk in the park but we named it that regardless. So let me take you by the hand, so to speak, and experience the park as seen through the eyes of our photographer Richard A. McGuire.

My busy schedule does not leave too much room for trips to the movie theatre. But one of the movies that I did see and really enjoyed was 3:10 to Yuma. You can read up on some interesting background information in our article from Eric Engh.

On a more personal note: I am really interested in finding out how you like the new look of the magazine. Please take a pen and paper and drop me a line (an email to hp@hrgmt.com will do, too).

Until next time,

Hans Peter Jeschke
